Richard Moat has been the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Romania since September 2004. With over seven million customers, Orange Romania is the leader of the mobile telecommunication market, a
position strongly consolidated since Richard's arrival.Richard's career in telecommunications and
Orange started fourteen years ago. He has held positions in Finance, Business Development and Operations. Before coming to Romania, Richard Moat represented Orange as Chief Executive Officer in Thailand, and in Denmark, where he played a critical role in securing financial solidity under challenging market conditions.
Prior to joining Orange, Richard worked with Lloyd's of London and then eleven years with USX/Marathon Oil.
Richard is an English national of 52. He graduated in Law at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge University. Richard is a board member at Foreign Investors' Council, and of the Aspen Institute of Romania.
