February 2007, Superbrands Romania started the development of the second Superbrands programme on the Romanian market, the Business Superbrands
Programme, on the mission to identify & reward excellence in Business branding, profiling the Romanian business environment and acting as a reference guide for potential investors and business partners.
February 2007, 24 Romanian marketing specialists, business professionals and opinion leaders with a deep appreciation of the Romanian brandscape and business environment have accepted the invitation of Superbrands Romania to come together and form the Business Superbrands Council, having the independent role of voting and validating the Business Superbrands of Romania.
February 2007, Nielsen Romania partners Superbrands Romania for the documentary, processing and research phases of the programme. At the first phase, Nielsen provided support in data gathering, using a wide range of sources to compile an accurate list of Romania's leading business brands, which was to be forwarded to the Council for voting. '
March 9th 2007, started the voting process. The Business Superbrands Council was invited to independently score the extended list of brands, according to Superbrands selection methodology and procedures;
March/April 2007, Nielsen processed the scores provided by Council.
April 18th 2007, The Business Superbrands Council validated the shortlist of brands eligible as Business Superbrands-in Romania. Mr. Rhett Lego,-Director of Operations-for Superbrands-Europe was present on this occasion.
May 7th 2007, Mr. Eamonn Sadler, CEO Superbrands Ltd. met the Business Superbrands Council and the Superbrands Romania team within a meeting that closed the first phase of the programme.
Next steps:
Nielsen Romania will conduct an in-depth research in order to reinforce the Business Superbrand status and reveal the Superbrands 'recipe of success'.
The methodology Nielsen will use consists of a qualitative approach – in-depth interviews with top managers from various industries, with the scope of identifying the Superbrands key drivers in Romania and Superbrands performance.
Superbrands Romania will prepare the first Business Superbrands book for Romania.
The first Business Superbrands of Romania will be awarded and revealed during the Tribute Event launching the first Business Superbrands Book in Romania.
